The challenge
Novus Group owns three footwear and accessories brands: Novus Shoes, BKS Shoes (formerly Bakers) and La Favorita. All three had been growing, online and in stores, and all three were running on Magento sites that were struggling to keep up.
Checkout was clunky, product updates were slow, and the stores did a poor job of showing that these were three different brands. Novus needed faster, steadier sites that each had their own personality.

The approach
We started with a technical discovery to understand the catalogue, the integrations and where Magento was holding the business back. That work pointed clearly to Shopify Plus.
We then designed and built three stores side by side. They share a structure, which keeps them easier to run, but each one has its own look. All the way through, we kept to the Novus habit of putting the customer first when deciding which styles to feature and how to show them.
A redesign for each brand
We redesigned all three stores. They feel related, so it is clear they belong to the same group, but each has its own colours, imagery and details that suit its customers.
Magento to Shopify Plus
With more than 10,000 SKUs across the three brands, the sites had to handle constant product uploads without slowing down. After discovery, Shopify Plus was the clear choice, and the new stores are stable and easy for the team to update. We cover this kind of move in detail in replatforming from Magento or WooCommerce.
A new SAP connection
Novus keeps its product and inventory data in SAP. We advised on rebuilding the SAP to Shopify connector so that data reaches the stores in real time, wrote the technical documentation for it, and did much of the product mapping between the two systems.
Email moved to Klaviyo
The platform move was a good moment to fix email as well. We moved the customer lists from Mailchimp to Klaviyo, set the account up properly, and built automated flows aimed at first purchases, repeat orders and keeping customers coming back.
Working together
A lot of this project came down to listening. We spent time with the Novus team to understand what slowed them down day to day, and built the stores to make their jobs easier as well as to sell more shoes. Regular check-ins kept both teams aligned from discovery to launch.
