About the role
You will build the software that takes machine learning out of notebooks and into products people use: data pipelines, model serving, evaluation and the application code around them. You will work with our data scientists, product managers and client teams on projects such as forecasting, document processing and generative AI features.
What you will do
- Design and build services that serve machine learning models in production, with monitoring and cost controls
- Turn prototypes from our data scientists into tested, maintainable code
- Build evaluation suites that tell us whether a new model is actually better
- Integrate models with client systems through APIs, queues and scheduled jobs
- Review code, write down design decisions and help improve how we build software
What we are looking for
- Four or more years of professional software engineering, mostly in Python
- Experience building and running services in production, including containers and a major cloud platform
- A working understanding of how machine learning models are trained, evaluated and deployed
- Clear written communication, because a lot of our work is shared in writing
Nice to have
- Experience with PyTorch, scikit-learn or similar libraries
- Experience with large language models, retrieval and prompt evaluation
- Experience with data tools such as dbt, Airflow or Snowflake
- Client-facing experience on consulting or agency projects
Where and how
Houston, London or remote, with a daily overlap with the team in Houston or London. This is a full-time role.
