Pylogix Custom Application Development Approach
Our development team faced a unique challenge when tasked with creating a custom application to control devices that were still in development, causing requirements and API specifications to be in constant flux. Using Pylogix’s agile development methodology, our team adjusted subsequent sprints as requirements evolved.
Our approach involved Pylogix aiding in the requirements gathering and documentation process, followed by SCRUM implementation. Daily SCRUM meetings allowed for project status review and sprint demos ensured customer satisfaction, leading to adjustments as needed. Our final product utilized Pylogix jDaptive and WebDaptive frameworks to provide a robust enterprise solution.
This multi-layered solution interfaced with several back-end systems and services via various protocols, allowing for execution of various device commands and operations. The application also processed interactive notifications from the low-level communications engine managed by the customer. Additionally, we provided analytics, enabling customers to review operational history and make informed adjustments to device resource usage.
Our application was built almost entirely using open-source solutions and libraries, making it highly cost-effective. By utilizing a mixture of our US and international resources, we were able to implement commodity resourcing, knowledge, and technology. Our completely internationalized web-based interface allows for a rich internet application (RIA).
Our application can be both hosted and locally installed, and is utilized by all of our client’s customers, 24 hours a day. Our product has become the focal point for our customer’s device management. Customers can remotely adjust individual endpoint settings and perform mass upgrades across their service territory from their desktop, leading to faster deployment with no impact on field personnel or customers.
